Mother's Day is so much fun! I read two books with my kiddos- My Mom's the Best by Rosie Smith (click picture to see iPad app) and The Night Before Mother's Day by Natasha Wing (click picture to see it on Amazon). There are so many more great books that are perfect for Mom's Day... IN FACT, Harper Collins has their own Pinterest (click to go!) board dedicated to books perfect for this occasion!
After reading, we answered the question, "Why do we need moms?" I was pleasantly surprised to see the different written responses my first graders came up with. We need moms to... pick clothes out, give us hugs, tuck us in at night, play with us, get us up for school (speakin' the truth!), buy us food (also true), cheer us up, and love us.
