I found this fake apple as I strolled through Hobby Lobby! I believe it only cost my $2.50, which is very reasonable considering how cute it turned out.
The Goods:
- Fake apple
- Paint brushes
- Colored acrylic paint
- Shiny nail polish (I used an old bottle)
Begin to paint the apple using continuing strokes. I started my stroke at the top by the stem and followed it all the way down to the bottom of the apple. If the apple is too wet, just follow it halfway and wait for it to dry so the apple does not stick to the surface.
To add the extra "UMPF"… brush some shiny nail polish on top! Be aware that the nail polish will probably be very sticky. I would suggest dipping the paint brush in nail polish remover directly after painting the apple because it hardens the bristles quickly. I was happy to see how the original paint began to "split" when I added the nail polish... it created a realistic looking apple.
The final process and the working tools!
Love this little pink apple! So simple and fun!

Hi Britney! I just found your blog today and became a follower. My reader described the apple to me, and it sounds really magnif! Wish I could paint, but being blind it would be a little bit hard. :)
